So I just bought a new CPU and went to go remove the old one when BAM, the plastic broke.
It didn't seem to affect the lever so I continued to put it all the way up and the CPU doesn't budge at all.
If i put anymore pressure the lever looks like it'll slip out as it doesn't have that extra plastic.
What should I do???

Just try prying the cpu out with something flat. (Go slowly around each side as to not bend pins.

If the lever stays down long enough for you to put a cooler on the new CPU, the lever will be held down by the cooler.

I don't approve of this. If the lever moves even slightly, the CPU may come out of position and some pins may short or lose contact with the socket. I say this because the whole socket moves when the lever is moved and I don't want it to move while the CPU has power because that could destroy the CPU.
