Hi guys,

I have some cpu temeratures results before and after overclocking that would be nice if you give some opinions and advices.
System:
I7 6700k before Oc 4.2ghz vcore Adaptive controlled by cpu(1.26 max in hwinfo)
after Oc 4.5ghz adaptive 1.35 llc 5 (1.39 max in hwinfo)
Gskill ripjaws V XMP 2666 15-15-15-35 1.2v
Asus Ranger VIII
Corsair rm650i
Cooler Master Seidon 120v version 2

Temps before OC:
Handbrake H265 medium preset
Core Average 57.25 Celsius
Handbrake 4.2

Prime 26.6 Small FFT
Core average 57.5 C

Prime 4.2

Temps after OC to 4.5ghz Adaptive Vcore 1.35 llc 5

Handbrake H265 medium preset
Core average 72.25 c

Handbrake 4.5

Prime 26.6 Small FFT
Core average 73 c

Prime 4.5

In OCCT Linpack I saw temps peaks to 86C

In Batman Arkham Origins I saw 75c max with Core average around 68-70 C

Room temperature 24c

What's your opinion? Should I downclock it for now. A better cooler is not possible.

Thanks for your time :)

Solution
i would put it back to defaul then raise to 4.3 play with and stress it with some bechmark for a few days to see how it goes under load then i would raise to 4.4 and do the same kind of test and if temp still safe try to level it between 4.4 and 4.5 until temp start to reach mid 75 c on full stress and load and does not spikes . that will be your safe overclock .
Thanks for your answer. :)

If I lower the voltage The system is not stable. I also tried llc 4 and the system crashed. I get 15c more if my system is OCed at 4.5ghz. I believe that 4.4 requires 1.35vcore in many skylake samples.

I have seen those posts for a while now.. The temps you are seeing on the overclock.net are with a delided cpu and hyperthreading off. Basicaly a delided skylake cpu could have 20c lower temperature + hyperthread off it's quite lower. I do not want to delid my cpu beacause of my warranty and the lack of proper tools. I also don't want to disable hyperthreading that's the reason I bought an I7 and not an I5.

Yep it seems fine at 4.4 at 1.280volts with llc5. I boosted up the vcore to 1.290 just to let it have some headroom and I'll leave it with these settings for a while.. It passed 11 hours with x264 16T easily with max Cpu temp at 69 and average at 66. There is no need to push the situation more. An I7 is a very powerful cpu at its stock speed already.. A boost of 200mhz with good temps are more than welcome. Thanks again for your help.
