Hey all you OC'rs,
What's a solid operating temp in celcius for an AMD 64 S939 3500+ (Newcastle)under load?
Like, low to high. IS 43 C high, about right, still low??? My conversions suck. :) I'm talking under load for several hours.
Just looking for norm. and high figures; when should I worry??

<font color=green> I doubt, therefore I might be. </font color=green>

43 on stock cooling is close to right...how good is your airflow in the case?

I keep my chips under 55c. That's what Intel used to spec for all silicon, for long life. So far, it's been good for me. (real hard withe the old palominos)
Remember though, you are getting your numbers from a 25 cent diode, hooked into a system where it has never been calabrated.
A couple of degrees below where prime95 goes a little funny is always safe.

under constant load...dependant on room temp...runs between 40-50c (again...at load, running f@h 100% cpu usage; 3000+ @ 2.1ghz); A/C was off for a week, i took the side off and still got temps up to 50c during the day...

The only problem i've ever had with this system in regards to stability was running the foo fighters new CD...blue screen everytime i pop it in. God i hate copyright protection...Stupid porkers. Ok...that's not a stability problem...but i wanted to piss on them anyway...

Just download some 'Backups' from the 'net. Since you own the original there are NO moral/legal complications. Plus you save on wear 'n' tear of the CD
