Hi,
Thanks for taking the time. Will provide full detail below, but the context and question is:
Context: My 2600x is hitting 80 when gaming (idles at 35-40) according to Ryzen Master) and this spikes to over 90 when gaming. Apparently 95 is its critical limit.
I've now got all fans on full, and that means it jumps to 90 on the dot and doesn't seem to go beyond (they're quiet fans so not a huge issue other than longevity).
Question: Will this consistently high temp be causing slowdown, and also potentially breaking my CPU in the near/medium future?
If yes, I have some solutions I'm mooting and would welcome your input if you have the time to read the detail below too (Budget is a big factor, being a family man, but the price / value tussle is there to be had).
Solution 1: Just get an extra fan (room for 1 more on front) and maybe better cooler (current is stock wraith spire cooler I think)
Solution 2a: Bigger case, more airflow needed in that crpyt! (antec gx200, so not much room to spare)
Solution 2b: Bigger case and cooler will likely run to £200+, maybe worth upgrading overall if I'm going to the hassle of rebuilding my PC into a new case etc. and could get cheap deals still off the back of January sales / people selling old kit they've now upgraded for Christmas.
