Hi,

Just noticed my cpu temp is 36-38 degrees. It's the middle of summer here in NZ so I'm just wondering if it's the warmth in my room that is giving the temps I'm seeing or whether something else is going on.

I usually get between 20-28 degrees. I haven't been monitoring the temps as of late until now.

I have a i5 4690K with a Corsair H80i GT cooler.

My room is pretty warm at the moment so it probably is responsible for these temps. I should probably monitor it for a few days just in case there is something going on hardware wise but everything seems to be normal.

My thermo is reading 80F but I only just pulled it out and I don't know if it's actually even working properly.

If you are talking about degrees celsius then 36-38 is perfectly fine temperature and there is nothing to be afraid of.

The difference you have noticed between the 20-28 and the 36-38 could be from the hot weather indeed, but I don't think this would be a problem since this temperatures are perfectly fine and it's not possible to cool the CPU lower than the ambient temperature of the room so consider this too.

Yeah I realise the temps are safe was just wondering why they are higher than what I am used to seeing.

I don't think I monitor my temps enough these days, I can't remember what I got lost summer either:??:

Just trying to work out if the temps are actually ambient based or whether it's a hardware issue instead.
