CPU Temperature variables.

Hi all. Recently I've been experencing an automatic shutdown of my PC. I went to check the cpu cores' temperatures and this is what I found

Core 3 seems to run much hotter than the other and its temperature fluctuations are large.
Sometimes it's 40% sometimes it's 70-80%

Is this normal? What steps should I take? Is my psu going bad? It's 500W with 12V rails.

I should mention that was during a game. Here's idle temperatures.

Those are load percentages, not temperatures. If you want to check temps, download Core Temp and monitor temps using that. HWmonitor is in my opinion terribly unreliable anyhow.

As far as the core loads are concerned, it's entirely normal for different cores to have different loads/usage.


What is the brand and model number of your power supply?

Post your CPU temps - at idle and while gaming. How measured?

I'm sorry I downloaded the software from the link and this is what I have.

This is with two gaming applications running.

MY psu is 500w Turbolink on 12v rails.

Post your complete and detailed build. According to that you only have a single core CPU.

8GB DDR3 RAM
Nvidia Geforce GTX 750TI
Idle temps are around 30-45, gaming temps can go up to 75-80

83C core temp - way too hot. They should be 70C max.

Put a better CPU cooler on eg Coolermaster Hyper 212 evo (2700inr at Flipkart)
