Hello, I am looking to pimp out my little brothers computers for Christmas and scored a good deal on a pair of 980's. So I am building around the 980's and am needing a CPU that will play well with everything and that won't break the bank(since I gotta buy 2). Any recommendations on changes would be appreciated but prmarily need input on CPU that won't bottleneck 980. Part list below;

Asus Prime Z270-AR motherboard
Asus STRIX GTX 980 4gb OC
Vengeance LPX DDR4 3000mhz 8gb

They have existing Coolers, PSU's, and HDD's and will likely be running Windows 10 pro. I was looking at G4560/G4600 but read that they may have issues with keeping up. Thank you all for your time.

Yeah, I don't think I'd trust the pentiums to be able to keep up with the GTX 980. Even with Hyperthreading. At least not in all games at 1080p near max settings. I have my GTX 980 paired up with a i5-7600 and no problems.

On the other hand, if you are trying to keep from breaking the bank, the Penium would be a good started CPU that you could upgrade when funds allow.
