I have a i5 750 and I plan on getting a gtx 950 is the cpu too old or will it work well for the next few years of gaming ? or do i have to upgrade :) ? 🙁 ?

Solution
It may be fine another year. According to cpu boss, it's a little behind the amd fx 6300. If you overclock it should give another year. I would say get your card and in the meantime start saving. My plan is to start saving about 20 a month until November when the new amd cpus are scheduled to release, then I can see if I want to buy one or switch to Intel.

I'ts definitely a budget PC I paid 250$ for it. Hoped I could just buy a new graphics card and be able to play some new games on it without having to buy a new MB and CPU

I was also planning to OC it to 3.4 - 3.6 ghz and buy a liquid cooler. Would that help or not worth it ?

Overclocking to 3.4-3.6GHz will help a bit on Lynnfield CPUs, but you will still get a bit of bottleneck on some of the more CPU heavy games that has come out lately. I had an i5 760 overclocked to 3.5GHz, and I was still having trouble maintaining 60FPS in GTA V and getting lots of stuttering in the urban areas of Witcher 3, so I upgraded to Skylake. If you're okay with 30 FPS and some stuttering here and there, you might be able to squeeze another year out of your CPU, though you'll do better if you can manage to push a really high overclock, eg. around 4.0GHz.
