i have a asus rog strix g16 2024 and recently when playing fort my cpu usage isnt high and the temperature is over 90 degrees celcius, the usage usually goes around 15-25%. it also spikes and makes my frames jitter. what could be the problem?

What CPU model do you have? Is it the Intel 14900HX? Many similar laptops set the Intel Turbo Power Limits way higher than the cooling system can manage.

what could be the problem?
It is usually just poor design. Run HWiNFO and check to see what the PL1 and PL2 turbo power limits are set to by the BIOS. You can try reducing these two power limit values in the BIOS.

If you have an Intel HX CPU, you can also try reducing the CPU voltage as long as Asus did not lock out voltage adjustment.

It is possible that the factory did a poor job installing the heatsink. Most people that just bought a new laptop are not interested in immediately having to do surgery. If you ever do decide to replace the thermal paste, try using Honeywell PTM 7950. It tends to last a lot longer than many of the popular replacement thermal pastes.

Welcome to the joys of owning a modern high performance gaming oriented laptop. Consider returning it if it is not too late.

Just some common sense suggestions.
First...make sure your internal fan is working. Second...get some "canned air" and clean out the intake and exhaust vents. Third...only play on hard surface so you don't block vents. Fourth...get a decent laptop cooler pad from Amazon.
