Hi,

I've Windows 8 and I play BF4 and other new games which are CPU intensive. I'm used to play with the cores unparked thanks to unpark utility (http://www.coderbag.com/Programming-C/Disable-CPU-Core-Parking-Utility).

HoweverI looked a bit around...and it seems that it doesn't really impact much since on Windows 8, all cores are unparked, still the utility software shows that 2 cores are parked..I don't know what to think.

Solution

Those utilities are all a bunch of crap. As long as Windows isn't set to some sort of low power configuration it will automatically use all of the cores in the most effective fashion.
