Hi, I have an old Medion P4011 D AIO PC. I understand it runs a Socket P Intel T4400 dual core CPU running at 2.2ghz. It is very slow compared to my second gen i5, itself old but 3.2 ghz. Can I upgrade the CPU first of all, and secondly what is the fastest one I could use ?

Solution
As far as the physical socket, you can probably change.
It is a PGA478

Here are CPUs compatible with that slot:

Next question would be...does the BIOS allow for a different CPU? Maybe, maybe not.

Next question would be....Is the internal cooling situation viable for a different CPU? Completely unknown.
The T4400 TDP is 35W. A Core2 Extreme might be 130W. Major difference needed in the cooling situation.

Last question is....would you see a real performance change? Possibly not.

AIOs are basically laptops in a different config. Not really meant to upgrade.
