CPU upgrade for Aspire X3910 Acer WG43M

so i have an E5700 Core Duo with 2mb L2 at 3.0GHZ and I would like to upgrade to a Xeon X5460 because its a higher clock spd, two more cores, and 12mb cache for $20 but i just bricked an older pc recently trying to get a bios upgrade through and i'm just not willing to do any bios stuff at all. can anyone tell me if i need any bios updates or should go with a different cpu?

That motherboard, with the manufacturer BIOS, does not support Xeon processors.
It supports the Q9650 which has 4 cores and 12mb cache.

that was my next choice, any idea on if i would need to update bios to add support or is it already supported?
