Cpu upgrade for i5 2300 but same socket.

I need to replace my i5 2300 so i can play pubg better. around $100 max used and cheaper than that would be nicer. idk much about cpus thanks

It'll have to be 2nd hand since it's obsolete. You may find something on Ebay

You cant install another CPU except socket 1155. Unless you replace the mobo and ram as well

yeah but whats a cpu with that socket that wont bottleneck a gtx 1050 ti?

What is the model number of the motherboard? Need that to look up the CPU Support List for the board.

its oem idk. its orignally from a dx4850-27e i believe. from tigerdirect.

In that case, I don't know. A brief search online shows that you could probably upgrade to an I7-2600. There is a slim chance that you could upgrade to an I7-3770 without a BIOS update, but I sincerely doubt it.

Not sure if you'll be able to find anything worth the cost for under $100.

what about an i5 2500k or i5 2400. is the 2400 worth it?
