[SOLVED] CPU upgrade for rendering videos and general performance

PC specs:
FX 4300 CPU at 3.8ghz
Asus r7 360 OC
Ram 1333 Ddr3 2 x 4Gb
350w Corsair psu
asustek m5a97 r2.0 motherboard

Alright so I play Minecraft on high settings and get about 120-200 fps in game. I sometimes record and render videos but I really need a better CPU for it. I'm getting 100% CPU usage a lot when rendering videos which is expected but my PC is very slow and the rendering takes forever.
I use sony Vegas 14 and no matter what settings I use for the render it takes a long time.

So basically I've looked at the Fx 8350 and seen that I would need a new psu for it to all run .
Would the stock cooler work with the fx 8350? at the moment I'm getting 40-60 celcius when playing games or rendering with my fx 4300.

I have a feeling my CPU is bottlenecking my graphics card at the moment for games like fortnite because at any settings low-medium I get frame spikes with 100% usage.

Any recommendations for a new CPU? And also what watt psu should I get to run it all?

Budget around £200.

Okay, thanks. However let's say I'm getting the FX 8350. Would that be a lot better for say, rendering and recording. Not sure how my gpu comes into this. Is my gpu being bottlenecked? Would I need a better gpu for rendering or for games? What PSU would i need for my current setup but with an fx 8350 instead of a fx 4300? Would a future upgrade to a GTX 1060 be worth it if i got the fx 8350? I'll look into the ryzen 5 1400 by the way.

Well the 8350 would be better for rendering/streaming due to the extra cores but putting money into a outdated FX socket is just a bad idea. As for the PSU depending on the quality it might be ok but usually for gaming systems you want a good quality 550W unit. Budget wise the Corsair CX/CXM 550W is good and there are really good Seasonic units as well.

Neither 4300 or 8350 would be good for the 1060, you'd want the Ryzen 1400 or better.

The R7 360 is fine to pair with the 1400, it has no effect on streaming or rendering. As for the speed difference, I'm not sure but from slowest to fastest it would be the 4300 > 8350 > 1400.

If your PSU works fine with the build for now then you can upgrade now without needing to replace it but when you get the extra money I'd highly recommend replacing it with this.
