hi guys,
I am Rahul and I need some help.
I have Gigabyte GA-B85M-D3H (rev 1.0), i3-4130, 16gb ddr3, sapphire r9 270x
ok
so i need to upgrade i3 to i7.... I am planning to upgrade i7-4770 on same mobo...
so I am asking is it good ....or I need to change mobo to for latest generation or any best suggestion...
I am not using this pc for gaming ... I needs to run software very well and i am using 2 or 3 monitor max
Please suggest

thanks you guys in advance

No need to update as the current motherboard will work fine.

some tips from me,
if you can find E3-1230V3 or E3-1231V3 for good prices and if your mobo supports it (perhaps after BIOS update), these Xeons are practically a cheaper I7 4770 without the iGPU. You do not really need the iGPU if you always plan to use dedicated graphic card.
The were the hidden gems from that proc generation, since most people were afraid to take Xeon or will immediately bash those buying such processor for home usage.
Yes, Xeons are intended for servers but you will not really notice the difference between these Xeons to the I7 4xxx.

As I bought my E3-1231V3, it was €206 the same as I5 4690k and I7 4790 was €280.
This Xeon is still alive and quite kicking for anything I throw at it incl. games.
