Hi there all!

Can someone please confirm something.
I was thinking about upgrading my CPU, currently I have Intel i5-7400 sitting in and I was looking for i7 7700k to put it in the same socket so I wont temporarily have to change the motherboard.
My friend said that my motherboard will most likely be limiting the i7. I've got MSI h110m pro-vh plus which he said well I won't be quoting word to word... is bad . Could it be an actual issue?

It's just and temporary solution as I am planning to upgrade the motherboard at some point but this wouldn't be that expensive to do. What are You thinking? Can this motherboard handle the i7 7700k? I would be very grateful for any opinions. Thank You!

It can ¨handle¨ it but don't expect overclocking or anything juicy. That's a naked board so I really wouldn't suggest it. Plus the $90 i3 10100f outperforms it soooo yeah... not a great option. How much are you willing to spend on a cpu/mobo/and maybe ram upgrade?

Thanks Jacob.
Now when You put it this way it really makes not much sense to do it if newer i3 processor is faster. I have recently bought GTX 1080Ti and I have 16GB of RAM so I was wondering what would be an optimal purchase for current setup. Maybe You could suggest me something here. I play some games recently and this CPU is really struggling. Budget is not that important, I just don't want to buy top tier CPU and the GPU will be slowing it down.
