I want to upgrade my i5-2400 and need to ask if this i7 will be ok..

Solution
It's a Dell proprietary motherboard. That's the first issue. The second is the on-board chipset. The Q67 chipset only supports the second gen Core I-Series processors. From what I'm finding, the best processor you can upgrade to is the Intel Core I7-2600.

I've never upgraded anything apart from RAM as I always had a laptop. This is new but not confusing..
