Well the fastest cpu supported by that board the Althon 2200+ only supports sse. You will need to upgrade to any modern motherboard/cpu combination to get sse2 support. All current x86 based CPU's support sse2. AMD has supported SSE2 since the Athlon 64 and Intel since the Pentium 4 both of which were released years ago.

But will these cpu that support sse2 plug into the A462 socket...is there one that will?

That is what I was pointing out with my original response. There is no CPU for socket 462 that supports SSE2. The first socket from AMD that supported CPU's with SSE2 was socket 940.

The following AMD based desktop sockets support SSE2 based processors
AM2(+), 939, 754, AM3(+), AM1, FM1, and FM2(+)

And for Intel these desktop sockets support SSE2 based processors
423, 478, 775, 1366, 1156, 1155, 1150, 2011, and the upcoming 1151.

All of the processors supported in the sockets above will support SSE2. Unfortunately socket A (462) does not support a processor that has SSE2. You will need to upgrade your motherboard, cpu, and memory to get access to SSE2.
