Hi, I want to upgrade the default CPU in my laptop (Celeron 900) and I was wondering if a T7500 would work. I'm kind of on a budget and that was the first decent/cheap thing I saw.

Some specs:

Intel® Celeron® Processor 900
Windows 7 Home Premium (32-bit)
2GB DDR2 800MHz memory
250GB HDD (5400rpm, Serial ATA)
Chipset: Mobile Intel GL40 Express
FSB: 800MHz

Thanks!

Thanks for the quick response, I'll contact them tomorrow. The ones I found seem a bit too cheap.

The CPU would need to be recognized by the BIOS, just because the CPU will physically fit in the socket, it doesn't mean the laptop will be capable of using it. The BIOS basically has a list of acceptable CPUs. If the CPU you install is not listed, then the laptop will either not boot up, or if it does boot up it will be running at the lowest clockspeed. If Toshiba never intended to use a CPU in the laptop, then chances are they did not bother listing in the BIOS. As I stated, it's best to contact Toshiba to see if there is something more powerful than the T3000 which your laptop can use.

BTW, the link does not seem to work.

Hello. I have been doing a ton of searching and tinkering in the last two months with my Toshiba Satellite. I also have the L455-S5975. I upgraded to 802.11/n and about to swap motherboards so as to utilize DDR3 ram, due to the market trying to rape people for pc2-6400 800mhz 200 pin 4gb ram. DDR3 ram is half the price.
So as I have been searching for info and ideas i found this thread. I wanted to know where you found the info about your socket? Everything i have found says its a PGA370 socket.
