Hi guys, I'm currently looking to upgrade the CPU in my mid-range gaming PC and was wondering if I could get some advice on what else I would need to upgrade in my PC. My current one is the following:
AMD FX-6350 Black Edition CPU (AM3+, Hex Core, 3.90GHz, 14MB, 125W, Advanced Bit Manipulation)
And I was thinking of getting an Intel Core i5-8400
(https://www.amazon.co.uk/Intel-BX80684I58400-Core-i5-8400-Processor)
Now I'm aware that this would require getting a new motherboard, and was looking at getting a Gigabyte Z370P D3 Socket 1151 Coffee Lake DDR4 ATX Motherboard.
What I wasn't sure about was whether my existing desktop tower from 2013 will still be compatible with newer motherboards. I think it's big enough, but I'm not sure if the fittings have changed in the meantime. The model I have is the following:
Am I likely to have any trouble putting that motherboard in the case? Any other advice would be appreciated seeing as this is my first time upgrading the CPU. The PC has 12 GB of RAM and a GeForce GTX 1060 6GB graphics card if that's relevant.
Thank you for your time!
