Question CPU Upgrade, worth it?

Hi,

Is it with upgrading a 12400 for the 13600k?

CEX in my area have a 13600k for £250 and I can trade my 12400 in for £91 costing £159 to upgrade.

Wondering if it's worth doing or not, I only really play games at 1080p on a 144hz monitor.

Should I just wait until next year when the prices come down after the 14th gen launches?

MSI Mag Mortar B660m WiFi flashed to latest bios.

32GB Vengeance 3600mhz DDR4 Ram 4x 8GB sticks.

i5 12400

Gigabyte 1080ti Auros 11GB GPU

13600k has about an 18 percent advantage on the standard single thread benchmark.

I don't know the degree of correlation between that and frames per second or whatever you want to use to judge gaming performance.

Even if I did know the degree of correlation, I wouldn't know if you thought that was "worth it".

You are the foremost authority on "worth it". You might consider 3 fps worth it or 30 fps not worth it.

It's speculation how low prices might go in the future on a 13600k; I saw 295 USD the other day on Newegg.
