[SOLVED] CPU Upgrade

I have dell inspiron 15-7579 2 in 1, it has core i5 7th gen CPU, i want to upgrade the processor to i7, can i do it or is it possible?

You need to look and see what the best cpu that came with that model was and search to see if anyone else has tried. Not sure though, but if you try it you want to use a cpu that was offered in that specific model.

It's impossible to change your CPU. You're stuck with what you have.

Yep, but according to me for a laptop that CPU is good enough? because even if it was a replaceable cpu its an i7 and any upgrade over it in the laptop market would only be possible with chips of TDP higher than your laptop could handle so it wouldnt make sense?

Well, the question was if he can change the CPU or not... he clearly isn't able to.

I didn't imply that he's i5 isn't good enough, that's for him to assess.

Aha, missed the 2 in 1 part. Was thinking in terms of desktop. If you are talking laptop then, always assume that you can't replace cpu.
