CPU usage 100% problem

Solution

It's 100% normal for CPU usage to spike in an application, especially when you first open it.

  • ■ Does the CPU usage stay at 100%, or drop off after a bit?
    ■ Does it hit other spikes during the game, & if so what is happening (i.e. entering a crowded area, playing on a large multiplayer server, etc.)?
    ■ Just 1 particular game, & if so which one? If not just 1 game, is it all games/applications or just certain ones? If just certain ones, which ones in particular?
    ■ Again, what are your system specs?

The reason system specs are important is we need to compare them to the game/application you're looking at. If, for example, you have the minimum CPU and/or RAM for running the...

Hi,

Either
- There is a service that is consuming 100% of the CPU (I had Kaspersky before with the same issue), Can you check?
- Maleware
- Broken registry -> tons of services of the same name running

... and other reasons but the above is what I encountered

Is this a constant issue, or just a random spike? If it's a random spike, what exactly happens when it spikes: opening a particular (or any) application, downloading a file from the Internet, etc.?

If it's a constant issue, we need to know your system specs: CPU, motherboard, RAM (amount/speed), OS (version #/32 or 64 bit), storage (type/amount), etc.

i am having this same issue, i noticed it because of the noise the fans make (i have a kraken x52), i uninstalled daemon tools and updated windows to the latest update and it started doing that, i still havent found a solution but the curious thing is that it doesn't show up in the task manager, only on other system resource viewers like HWinfo64, i attached pictures.

Well due to the lack of details it could literally be anything.

I recently just helped someone with a similar issue. However, it was due to Windows 10 and also happening outside of game as well.

As others mentioned, In order to assist you problem. You need to provide more info. Is it happening in only games? Does it happen outside of gaming? Is it only one specific game? What are your specs? Have you monitored system temps? etc....
