[SOLVED] CPU usage

Hi, my pc has been crashing for the past few weeks almost every time i was trying to run rainbow six siege or call of duty warzone. Other games are fine. I reinstalled gpu drivers, updated bios, tested ram, cpu and hdd where i got them installed and no errors.

Last thing i came up with was changing maximum cpu usage in power plan setting to 80% and everything is working fine.

What could be causing this issue?

My specs:
I7 4790k not overclocked
Asrock extreme4
16gb ram
Rtx 3070
Samsung evo ssd
WD Blue HDD
Corsair RM650 psu

Set the power plan to 99%, this just prevents the processor from turbo boosting. If that works and setting it back to 100% causes it to crash, the CPU may not be able to use turbo boosting anymore. It may not necessarily mean it's on its way out even if you disable turbo boost however.

I set it to 99 and game is working just fine. Do you think its time to start looking for a new motherboard and cpu?

I'd say start stashing money away now but don't really think about it. The processor should still be fine for a while at base clock speeds, but you never know.
