Hi,
First time overclocking and very big noob. This is my first time overclocking and I'm pretty pumped
. I have an i5 4690k with an MSI z97 G45 gaming motherboard (click BIOS 4). So I started off configuring settings in the BIOS to prepare for overclocking (after stress testing of course). I had noticed that my vcore fluctuates, so I changed the CPU core/CPU ring/CPU GT voltage mode to override instead of auto, thinking that this would lock the vcore at whatever I set it to (which was stock in this case because I hadn't started overclocking yet). This didn't fix the problem. When I stress test with AIDA64 the vcore jumps from a lower value at idle to the stock voltage when I click start. Why isn't the vcore always staying at what I set it to? How come the vcore is at a lower value when not doing anything cpu-intensive? Is there another setting that I have to change? It's almost as if it's in adaptive mode instead of override. The other options are auto, offset, adaptive and then a combination of some of them, like offset+adaptive. Thanks for your help guys.

Also my cpu cooler is the Phanteks ph-tc12dx but its solid and my temps have always been great.
