CPU vs GPU in gaming

I just bought a EVGA Geforce GTX 1070 Super Clocked and i was trying to run some new games like Ark. But i have an AMD A4 6300 how will this affect my gaming experience.

That processor will VERY severely impact your gaming performance with the 1070, I'd upgrade to an intel i5 or i7 as soon as possible.

But will it damage any of my hardware if i dont upgrade

no it won't damage anything.

but when the 1070 could for example run BF1 @1080p @160fps
you'd still only get around 35fps as your CPU is way too weak to accomodate a card like that
