CPU VS GPU? What should I upgrade?

Hi guys,
I have a gtx 660 2gb, 8gb ram (2 x 4), 500w and an a8-5600k black edition (3.6ghz)
Now that the next gen games are coming, i feel as though i need an upgrade.
Im not sure whether to upgrade to an i5 processor (i would need to buy a new motherboard too), or whether to buy a new graphics card, like a gtx 970 or a gtx770. Which would be a better upgrade if i want more fps and smooth gameplay, with nice visuals? Also, would upgrading the cpu make a noticable difference?
I use my pc for games like battlefield 4, csgo, dayz (runs terribly), and im planning on playing next gen games like farcry4. My budget is around £300.
Many thanks, :)

There is nothing wrong with amd chips but you will experience bottlenecking with ur cpu on a gtx970. I would suggest save up a little more and upgrade both. with your rig its the best possible solution for gaming.
if you are on a budget and willing to fork out some money to update, just go with a AMD3+ chipset on a Asus M5A99FX PRO R2 motherboard, then update to a gigabyte gtx 970 g1 gaming edition. The rig will last would a few years still to come and you will experience no bottlenecking.

Im kinda worried on putting a GTX970/770 on a8-5600k because it will bottleneck... i guess the only way is to upgrade your CPU+motherboard first then you GPU. But it is advisable that you save the money to buy a new GPU, CPU and MOB.

I had an i3 2120 and bought a MSI GTX 970 for it. The fps I got was not very good 🙁
I then bought an i7 4790k and the fps flew through the roof! Great card. Get an i5 and then later upgrade the gpu to the GTX 970.
