Hello everyone.
I need some advice please, my pc currently has a ASUS P7H55-M/USB3 motherboard, and a Xeon X3470 CPU, along with a 1070 ti GPU, hardly world beating, but i can play most games at an adequate framerate, i have a problem though...

My Xeon doesn't support AVX and without that i can't play Starfield 🙁

So my question is can anyone recommend a cpu upgrade for me?

Many thanks for looking in.

The best CPU you could go with is a i7 880 which does have some AVX. AVX really didnt come into play until the 2nd gen intel cpus, they then switched to AVX2 with the intel gen 4 cpus.

Starfield may or may not work with first gen AVX cpus. I have an old i7 980x in my server rack but dont have starfield to try it on 🙁

Consider upgrading to a compatible CPU like the Intel Core i7-870 or i7-880, both of which support AVX. They'd provide the needed boost for Starfield and maintain compatibility with your motherboard. Ensure your motherboard's BIOS is updated for compatibility. Good luck with your gaming journey!
