cpu_opt and cpu_fan

I have a Asus Maximus VI Hero motherboard that has a cpu_fan and cpu_opt connector. My CPU has a big fan on it so I connected that to the cpu_fan connector. It works, but is that the correct place to put it?

And what is the cpu_opt connector for? The manual just shows you the different fan connectors and pin outs but doesn't tell you what it is for. And to confuse me even more is that the other 3 fan connectors are named cha_fan1 thru fan3. And the connectors to my 4 fans are Molex and won't fit on the motherboard)

cpu-opt is used for water cooling pumps

Than can be used if your cooler has two fans , I use both for my cooler on my HERO.
