crackling audio noise on streaming videos

System recently checked for viruses & malware, comes up clean. New drivers installed.
Still, All YouTube Streaming videos (not movies !) are beset with an intermittent crackling audio noise which renders them unlistenable.
Wondering if this is a bandwidth or hardware problem ?

Try to update flash player to latest version, if not already. Run task manager, click on performance tab, now run youtube and watch processors column.
What is your pc spec??
