How much is a EVGA gtx 1080 ti FTW3 actually worth? I was going to make a trade with a guy on craigslist for his 1080ti in exchange for my 1070 mini, but he wanted another $300 on top of it(I was only offering $100-$150). So was I justified in my offer or was he right?

I would say he's right. The EVGA GTX 1080ti FTW3 will go for $550 used and the 1070 mini will go for $250 used.

Quick search shows 1070 mini for around $200 and 1080ti ftw3 around $500.

Of course, if you were going to spend that kind of money, it might just be worth selling the 1070, and buying something like brand new 2070 SUPER, which should perform pretty close to a 1080 Ti for around $500, only with support for some additional features like raytracing. A used 1080 Ti for over $500 seems arguably overpriced when one can get brand new hardware with a few years of warranty coverage for that.

Or if you don't need new hardware right away, maybe see what gets released with the 30-series later in the year.
