I had four WD Velociraptor 600 gb HDD's in raid 0 for my mass storage ( youtube videos, so on... probably wasnt the greatest idea to have in raid 0) and one day, the whole array stopped showing up in windows. I took the HDDs out of my machine an test them on my laptop, to no avail. All i get when I try to format them is CRC errors, and since the disk is uninitialized in Windows disk manager, I cant do anything with them. The drives are now unmounted in windows, I have no idea how to remount them. Below are links to postimg pictures of what I see in disk manager and command line: http:// http://

Solution
Have you tried to check them with the WD disk tool? Also you might have to format the boot sector with FDISK or another utility of your choice to get them to work in windows. I don't know for sure but you be able to this also from the WD diagnostic tools.

Also make sure the raid is disabled in bios.

The HDDs seem ok, they pass the tests and whatnot.. BUT they do not have drive letters and when I try to format them/make them usable through the conventional way ( Disk utility) it throws errors everywhere!
Not sure what is up with them 🙁
( also, the drives show up as having 0 bytes of storage... even though they are suppoosed to be 600 gb drives!)
