Question creating a file or directory

I got Putty https://putty.org/ on my windows laptop to access my Raspberry Pi 3. I log in my Raspberry Pi to setup Retrosmc https://discourse.osmc.tv/t/howto-retropie-and-osmc-retrosmc-retrogaming-on-osmc/6671 but it say File or dictionary directory not found. so, how do i create one. I don't know to to get Terminal window up on my raspberry pi3 B+ so i'm using to access my Raspberry wifi. do the raspberry need to be turn off

If you are connected to the pi3, then type the command ls to see what files ans folders it has.

I have never dealt with RetroPi, but it seems there are ready-made images for it. Download, image your SD card, and boot. The tutorial you're referring to implies you have some knowledge of RPi and how to set it up. Most probably, your current RPi does not have /home/osmc folder.

And I do believe you need keyboard/mouse and an HDMI monitor in order to use RetroPi. I doubt you can play any game over text interface as provided by Putty or other terminal emulators.
