Creative Geforce 256 problems

My display shows grey shadows across the entire width of the screen all over the place there are black images (characters, e.g.). Did someone ever had the same problem?

Ok! Other informations: Athlon 900, Asus A7V (but i'd the problem before with a Pentium III and BX MB), 128Mb ram, Win 98SE, Nvidia 6.31.

I had a similar problem with an old 486 I was fixing for a friend.

Make sure the cable for your monitor has all it's male connection prongs straight and none of them bent all over the place. If the connections aren't connecting, wierd things happen such as what you're experiencing.

Also, what type of monitor is it that you're using?

My monitor is a LG Flatron, but i had the same problem with my previous monitor (a LG 76i). If it could be useful, notice that when i connect/disconnect the monitor cable with the PC on, small sparks appear whenever the connector touchs the metallic parts on the back of the case.

Have you installed the latest drivers and everything?...

It could be the VGA port on the card that's the problem.

Yes, i tried the latest Nvidia drivers and the Creative ones but i begin to think to be forced to change it with a new one (probably a GTS 2 model, but not Creative!).
