I have and gigabyte z270x gaming 7 motherboard and everything is working great on it except for the audio. It came with an onboard amp (Audio Blaster Recon 3di made by Creative) and the audio just never comes out right. There is almost always a buzz that accompanies any sound and the bass is way too high, no matter where I put the EQ for my headphones (Razer Kraken Pro btw). I can't download the Creative sound drivers either. When I tried to download them after booting up my PC and from their website I got the same error message while I was installing, which was that there wasn't a compatible part in my build. I really don't know what do to and it's becoming increasingly annoying to the point where I don't even want to use my computer because of it.

Please help, and thank you in advance for any help you can give.

Solution
To be sure, have you actually tried the headphones with a different device to be sure they are not defective in some way. A minor short/open in the cable can cause the sound quality issues you describe as well.

Lol no, It is the Sound Blaster ZxRi chip.

still, its better to go to gigabytes website to get the drivers

I went and looked at that for the OP. They have two sets of drivers, one that is 1.0 another that is 6.0 but released a few days apart and are for the same OS.

@op: According to the tom's review of this board there is a switch on the board that lets you use high impedance headphones with it. Have you tried flipping that switch? Make sure it is set to low impedance mode or whatever it is called for normal headphones as your headset is only 32 ohms. High mode is for 500 ohms or more that is typically found in high end headphones.

Since you stated you used the website drivers and it is giving this error, i suggest you contact gigabyte support about this and see what they have to say. They can give much better support than we could.

Other than that, have you tried both sets of drivers?

I didn't know that, but I will look into it as well as test out what the switch does. Thank you so much for looking that up for me!

I've now tried both changing the switch to both settings (I found my original one was better) and downloading the drivers from the gigabyte website and neither really changed much, still pretty much the same and still not good. I guess the next step is ask gigabyte support what to do, right?
