Cross Fire Help.

Hello,

I built my first gaming pc yesterday and was looking to have two graphics cards and enable cross fire, My motherboard states it does support Cross Fire but I'm unsure how this work as my Motherboard has the following.

1 x PCIe x16 (currently used by the HD 7770 2GB DDR5)
1 x PCIe x1
2 x PCI

My Full System Spec's.
Processor AMD FX(tm)-8350 Eight-Core Processor
Video Card AMD Radeon HD 7700 Series
Memory 16 GB
Motherboard M5A78L-M/USB3


Really, my question is if I bought a compatible cross fire graphics card to fit either a PCIe (1 slot)
or PCI (2 slot) would it work with the current pci x 16 card?

I'm not looking for anythink fancy, just somethink to give my graphics a boost maybe a 1gb or 2 gb more, but does it have to be a GDDR5 like my HD 7770.

You cannot do CF or SLI with that board. Your only option is going dual GPU cards lke the 295 or the GTX 790.

Also, CF or SLI doesn't augment the available vram of your system. Your system don't add the vram, it only use it in parallele.

If you want 2GB of vram, you need a video card hosting 2GB of vram and not 1GB+1GB.
