Crossfire 6870 & 4890

I've just upgraded to a 6870, will my old 4890 be of any use in the system?

Was wondering if it were possible to crossfire them, they're of different series so I'm doubting it, can't find a compatibility chart that matches the too.

Also if this happens to work, will it result in performance increase?
