Crossfire and crossfire x

Hi!
Whats the diffrent between crossfire and crossfire x? My motherboard is older and it says it supports crossfire but do it support crossfire x to? Have crossfire and crossfire x the same requiments? My motherboard is asus p5e3 deluxe and im going to buy 2 6950

You are talking complete rubbish.

Crossfire is linking 2 or more actual cards together.
CrossfireX is the option of linking onboard card with single dedicated card.
Its a "PoorMans" Crossfire TBH

You both are wrong. CrossFireX is just a renaming of the old CrossFire technology after a slight change several years ago. We still say CrossFire, because everyone knows what it is, but technically, all new cards use CrossFireX, which is why the CCC shows it as CrossFireX regardless of your multi-GPU setup.

Wiki is calling it a rebranding. What ever you call it, all new cards use CrossFireX, and most people continue to use CrossFire terminology.
