I use a hdmi to vga and a vga splitter I have 1 that goes to a crt witch can go to 150hz and the other one to a dell 60hz monitor. Is the crt getting 60hz or 150

Solution
Both will get 60Hz, it's a golden rule of any system. They all get the lowest common frequency of whatever you are talking about. I'm not sure that your setup will work properly though, as the normal setup would be 2 identical monitors or at least with the same specs.

The GPU should have no trouble running displays at their respective native resolutions.

Check your GPU's control panel or Windows' display configuration. You may also want to check your CRT's specifications to see what its refresh rate is for whatever resolution you are using. That 150Hz refresh might only be possible at something like up to 1280x1024.

This is not true, he said he's using a splitter. Therefore, both will receive the same signal as the VGA standard doesn't support splitting signal on a single port. What you said would be right if he was using an independent output for each monitor.

Yeah, overlooked the part about the splitter. With even entry-level IGPs supporting dual or triple displays natively these days, I don't see why anybody would bother with splitters. Much cheaper to use the display drivers' display mirroring feature - you need one less cable, no splitter, get native digital for the LCD and independent control of the two displays.

When CRT monitors are part of the setup, you might have to forget about today standards a little. But whatever, if he needs to get that running for some reason, be it. I still like the way CRT's look compared to LCD/LED displays in terms of refresh rate.

I don't see what that is supposed to mean. I would possibly still be using my Viewsonic p95f if it hadn't gone up in smoke due to bad building power three years ago. (The same apartment also killed my Syncmaster CRT. Weak/floating neutral and a landlord who does not give half a damn is not fun. Only stayed there for a year.)
