[SOLVED] Crucial 1TB NVMe or WD Blue 1TB NVMe?

They’re both on sale for the same price right now. Which performs better?

If by Crucial, you mean a P1 1TB NVMe, a WD Blue SN550 1 TB NVMe has slightly better write speeds and higher endurance ratings and also holds up in sustained workloads, even though it is DRAMless.

So go for the WD Blue SN550. It outperforms the older Crucial P1 and is a much better deal.

Oh damn. Right. There is the MX500 also in NVMe form, other than the P1. I forgot about that.

MX500 is sold in a m.2 factor but is still SATA III and not NVMe - Thanks for the clarification.

MX500 is sata.
nvme is not a form. m.2 is the form.

That does have better performance than the WD Blue. And would be the better deal for the same price.

Clarification - THe MX500 can be had in M.2 format as well as 2.5". Not "NVMe".

M.2 or 2.5" is the format, NVMe or SATA is the protocol.
The MX500 performs the same in either format.
