Last I checked people still bought computers and laptops for $300 and less. How ya going to fill those up with SSD's huh?

The $50 256GB SSD.

It would be easy and cheap to integrate SSDs directly onto motherboards, just like on smaller devices like tablets, phones, mp3 players, ect. Not sure why it's not being done yet other than to keep it upgradeable

I don't see the actual product link, just an article about a controller. However, I doubt it would be possible or feasible or else flash powerhouses Samsung and Toshiba would have pounced on the idea in a heartbeat. I'm almost sure that's because the spinny disk will always be cheaper, and larger capacity. Remember, tablets/phones/mp3 aren't that cheap anyways... and they usually come with very small storage.

Wow, SSDs are getting cheaper. I remember a couple years ago looking at SSDs and having my jaw drop to the floor, looking at the price. Kind of makes me wish I would have waited before buying an SSD for my laptop, haha.

For the record, I use my SSD as a boot drive and to run my most important programs (Windows, Office, and my bigger games) and It wasn't too hard to set up all my documents/downloads etc to stay on my 1 TB HDD (just saying it's a cheaper way instead of going to a 1TB to replace . . .)
