Looking to build a new PC. Reviews favor T700 Gen5. However, upon reviewing the summary on Amazon, there's a disclaimer "Frequently Returned Item". A bit odd considering it has a 4.4 rating. I'm wondering if some of those customers are giving high praise a little too early and forgetting to update their rating?

Amazon Crucial T700 Gen5 M2 1 TB

Is there an alternate Gen5 brand I should be looking for? only need 1 TB

Could you link the product?

Its a good SSD and has a lot of good reviews everywhere. Maybe something to do with how Amazon classifies a product as "Frequently Returned Item". Assuming its the genuine product, it should be just fine. (not a clear conclusion till you link the product)

Returned by Users because their Gen3/4 hardware couldn't deliver the 'expected' performance upgrade?

Some of the alt. sellers on Amazon seem to be scalping (£200-340) maybe it's those with the higher prices that are leading the returns race?

It is from the Crucial store, and also strangely enough, I can't see anything called "frequently returned item".

its perfectly fine IMO.
it's near the top and just above "Report an issue with this product or seller" . it takes about 2-3 seconds to load after you reach the page.

I am guessing that 7% who rated the drive as 1 star returned it.
Compare to a 1tb samsung 980 PRO at 2%
The last thing you want is a problem with your C drive.

Do not be much swayed by vendor synthetic SSD benchmarks.
They are done with apps that push the SSD to it's maximum using queue lengths of 30 or so.
Most desktop users will do one or two things at a time, so they will see queue lengths of one or two.
What really counts is the response times, particularly for small random I/O. That is what the os does mostly.
For that, the response times of current SSD's are remarkably similar.

You probably would not notice any difference, even if you used a sata 2.5" ssd.

I don't see it either, tried changing scaling, ensuring ads weren't blocked etc.

Maybe a country specific thing (rather than a Samsung ad :) ), possibly something 'injected' by the app/search engine/price comparison tool?

UK/EU sites are all clear of the warning, US has it and they list 10 extra reviews cf European sites:

It must be region based (i'm in USA) - Since Amazon has a decent return policy, I'll give it a shot. It has a 15% price reduction (now $167 USD).
