Does this cooler block four of the DIMM slots on an MSI X99 mobo? It looks like only the outside four slots would be useable which is fine, however I don't believe these are the correct slots to take advantage of a quad channel memory set up. Trying to finalize my build and need some help, thanks!

Solution
I barely fit my Sniper Modules under it.

Appreciate that but not quite what I'm looking for. I don't have the mobo yet so I have nothing to gauge the width of the cooler against, and the manual for the mobo isn't much help either. Can anyone with this cooler on an X99 mobo answer definitively?

The X99 board has the RAM slots closer to the CPU socket because there are 8 total DIMM slots (4 on each side). It seems to be a unique problem to these boards because the actual heatpipes seem to come into contact with the RAM, not just the fan 🙁

Clearances is the single biggest issue facing the bigger twin tower coolers. My Raijintek Nemesis won't fit on my Msi mpower z77 simply due to the heatpipes coming into contact with the VRM's heatsinks surrounding the socket. Which no one, including myself, predicted.
It'll be no different on an x99 board with the R1. There's low profile ram and lower profile ram. SR-71's Snipers aren't the lowest of the low profile, they do still have the sniper gun on the top of the spreader. There's ram with removable sinks, which realistically doesn't hurt performance. It's going to be trial and error at least unless you find someone with the same x99, running a particular kind of ram, with an R1 cooler. With tolerances as tight as they are, and the sheer amount of variables, its realistically impossible to accurately say yes it fits or no it won't.
