If you have to ask that question(s) then you have no business trying to mine. At this point, it is a VERY EXPENSIVE investment with little probability of payoff. The difficulty is up... it is no place for a novice.

At this point any crypto currency mining is best done on ASICs. GPUs just can't keep up. In the same TDP a ASIC will do 100x the MH/s that even a top end AMD GPU can do.

I always been interested in mining and was wondering is it best to use a separate rig or one you already have built? I've recently invested in cloud mining but might explore actual mining rigs to make.

Cloud mining is the only way to go if you did not get into the ASICs when they first came out. If you had the ASICs when they first came out then a crate system was better but since you are so far into it now cloud mining is better since you pay to use already purpose set hardware.

Okay yea I figure so I wasn't sure of myself back then and was worry about other things when it came out. I'll probably keep increasing my hashing power each month.

Question from Ferre Vekemans : "Starting to mine"

Mining is over, specialized hardware now rules the space. Youll be able to pay for those cards assuming you're stealing electricity in about 4 years
