Yeah, Far cry et all were great graphically but,, as for the story too linear the player could not explore or even wander around or set up surprises for your opponents,, in other words their story sucked big time, and not worth replaying more than twice clearly not worth spending $60.00cad, personally I do not care that much for the eye candy it is the story that counts and the ability to interact with the game world, too many of the gaming companies do not seem to have folks that can write really good stories that do not involve solving your problems with guns, which is only fun when it is over the top as any fantasy should be, after all we are not training to be killers, we just want to have a little phun and let off some steam...:)

I pirated the first, installed it, played for 30 minutes and installed it.

Protip: Its quite simple, if you want to sell a PC FPS. It MUST be multiplayer centric.

[citation][nom]rhino13[/nom]I'm shocked at how few theives are deffending themselves in the comments. Most of what I'm hearing is I'm pirating it and buying it.I guess that's the only justification that you need to pirate an unreleased title?[/citation]

Im not pirating this one, waste of bandwidth.

[citation][nom]trialsking[/nom]One benefit of these wonderful pirates:My CF 5870's will be running games at MAX for the next 10 years because of this. No developer is going to make a PC exclusive to push graphix now.[/citation]

Like it has nothing to do with the console market... Why would you produce quality content when you can just do like Activi$ion? Piracy is a minor factor in the demise of l33t PC titles.

Wow, I'm just surprised how many people are so ill-informed that to think that a "mandatory check-in" will fix piracy. Obviously, all of you saying that are sadly mistaken: pirated copies are cracked to remove the DRM anyway: this means that the pirates get a SUPERIOR product, as they don't have to deal with, say, calling up the company and begging for a new activation should they decide to upgrade their hardware.

There is no way to make a game where you'll have zero piracy. Not at all. Even with an MMO, technically there's third-party shard emulators, whether they're implicitly permitted by the maker or not.

I think that more or less goes for FPSes in general: strong multiplayer is what will sustain it. You can get away without a PRIME focus, perhaps, but it needs a ludicrous attention to detail in the single-player campaign. But since that was for games like Perfect Dark (which wasn't PC to begin with) and things like Jedi Knight, it's clear that's not something anyone can just decide to pull off.

...and I have learned my lesson and will not buy cross-platform games...and therefore will not be buying Crysis 2 or any of their future games by the sound of it...In fact for me it has come to the point if the game is not PC exclusive I ignore it...a game that is designed for a console gamepad and primitive technology by definition is inferior and not worth my time or money.

Regards,

I wonder if anyone has looked at piracy rates with respect to when people stopped releasing demos.
Nearly every game that I have I either played the demo or played on a friend's computer.
The only game I've blindly purchased was Battle Field bad company 2, but I played 2142 and its demo before it plenty.

I'll admit to pirating Crysis when it came out, and I never got past an hour into it because I didn't enjoy it at all, and subsequently it has been deleted.
If crap games are released with no demo, of course people are going to pirate it. We're smart about our money and I'll only pay for something that's worth my time.
