Hi, I've grown tired of my xbox and want to switch to computer gaming. my current computer isnt bad and gets around 50 fps on battlefield 3. i wanted to build a new one but this would be my first complete computer build. i really want to be able to play crysis 3 beautifully. i have me a list of things on newegg that would work for crysis but i need some other opinions.

he didnt give me a recomendation for a psu if you guys would or could that would be awesome thanks :)

Actually those are pretty good recommendations, Personally I would prefer a Gigabyte mainboard, but MSI makes really good boards too so that should do fine. With reguards to the graphics card, I can neither confirm or deny that it will run like a bat out of hell on the SECOND HIGHEST SETTING of Crysis3. I can also neither confirm or deny that if your goal is to run Crysis 3 on the absolute highest setting you will need some sort of SLI setup I.E. 2 x Geforce GTX 570, 580, 670, 680, or one 690, something to that effect.

If you aren't going to be video editing, there isn't really a need for an i7. The difference in i5's and i7's are hyperthreading, which most games don't utilize. I don't know if Crysis is an exception, as I don't play it. Save $90 and get a 3570k so you can overclock. If you're stuck on the i7 atleast get a k model, so you can OC.

The mobo seems fine, most people here are going to suggest the ASROCK Extreme4 though. I personally would prefer the MSI. You can't go wrong with that case, personally it's not my style but MANY people like it. Oh and get a modular PSU. Will be a much cleaner build. These are just my understandings, there are others on here who know MUCH more than me and will be able to help you out alot more. Good luck.

Good choices, I love me some MSI and EVGA. Crysis 3 will be pretty demanding on even the latest PC builds from what I read. Much like the first one brought then current PCs to their knees. So you have a good start. I game at 2560 x 1600 and my single 4GB 680 should be able to handle it but will see next month. I may need to get a second one or wait for the 780 series in April. As far as a good PS I use a XFX 850w pro series, Ive used thermaltake before as well. You cant go wrong with a name brand PS. Go at least 750w.

Looks good. You could save about $200 by going with an i5 and GTX 670, but you could probably make good use of a little extra muscle in Crysis 3. Plus, i7-3770Ks and GTX 680s are binned better, and you'll be able to overclock more. This build will last you a good while playing games at 1080p.

Minimums have been released on the official Crysis web site.

You will need a DX 11 graphics card, which sux.
You will need 2 GB of availible ram on Win 7/8, bt 3gb on Vista (XP is evidently not supported!)

Pretty much, 970+ on the AMD side and a 77 or P5 on the intel side, with a corresponding processor, at least 4gb of ram and a DX 11 graphics card.

That doesnt look bad, the only thing I would be concerned abotu is the 550 TI graphics card, I would probably go with at least a GTX 560 TI minimum, the other will bottleneck that system alot. Not sure about the mainboard picked, but I own an ASRock Z75 Pro3 board, its a full ATX board and only cost 5 or 10 bucks more and runs great.

What if I went with the EVGA GTX 650ti 2gb card? I've also added that mobo to my Amazon cart.... Thanks again for the suggestion.... I just don't want to get my system built and find out that I could have saved a few bucks and gotten something better or spent a few bucks more and gotten something better.... What about going with a lesser processor, like getting an i3 chip with a better Video card? Say the Intel Core i3-2130 with a EVGA GeForce GTX 560 Ti?

You totally hijacked this thread, but you do want an i3 + GTX 660. That would give you a much better gaming experience because the i3 is 85% as good as an i5 in games, and the GTX 660 is worth every penny - and your video card is the most important thing for games.

Your build is good but there are some changes that you could do:
CPU:Change it to the i7-3770k or even the i5-3570k..With "k" processor you can overclock a lot..like 4.5-5.0ghz
ram is good.motherboard is good.case is good.gpu is good.
For the power supply rosewill is not the best..your build is a high-end one so you will prefer a good brand like corsair, seasonic , antec.BTW for the ram i like corsair more than gskill..but its only my opinion..Gskill is very good. If you go with "k" cpu you must buy an aftermarket cpu cooler
