Well, it's a beginning and may be people was expecting too much. It still better than older games right? I'am not sure today's hardware could handle a real life simulation and would be quite complex to handle everything like real life.

Currently im running..
X2 6000+
2G ddr2-800 dual channel
8800gt MSI 660mzcore 1650 shader
580w psu

I ran the GPU test and got an average frame rate of 40 fps in the first test, the other test's were even higher!

When i get back from work im going to setup the ultra high settings and then run the test again.

Wheres all the other 8800gt guy's at?

I heard really good things about the 8800GT, your shader at 1650 is quite impressive!

Thank you..one problem though is i checked my temps for the GPU and while playing Crisis they where 78 celcius!!
This was with the case side off..I have two rosewill 80mm adjustable fans coming in tomarrow.

I ran Oblivion at 1600x1200 HDR high setting's everything turned up and got liquid smooth frames as well.

Well i did the mod to unlock the ultra high setting's and loaded my game. Im getting about 33 FPS. In the Gpu test i got an average of 31fps on up. And when i ran CPU test i got 34fps average on up. Then i realized i had AA on 2x.

Also i overclocked it to 705 core and 995 memory and it ran fine without an increase in temp's.The memory/core could have gone higher but i ran out of time. So i set it back to the factory settings for now.

ultra high or very high? (I assume you are using XP)

Well i would assume the highest they can get...basically 4 which is as high as it can get correct?

But im having heat issues with the 6000+ and this card running alittle too warm for my tastes.

Yeah sure, the graphics are great. I am running it under XP with an AMD64X2 6000 CPU and a 7900GTX card. Even at only Medium settings, the graphics are stunning, and the movement is reasonably fast. I used the CPU and GPU benchmark programs in the demo and run an average of 40 fps. However, after having played the demo several times, I have decided that the gameplay sucks. Yeah, I liked grabbing chickens and Koreans and throwing them around. The idea of the suit is cool. But, there are a host of annoyances. The keyboard controls are so widely spaced for some functions that you end up looking around at the keyboard, while getting ambushed by Koreans. Why is it that the Korean soldiers can accurately hit you when you can barely see them, and you have to empty your weapon to get enough hits to take them out? Why is it that when they throw a grenade, you are suddenly as slow as pigshit when you try to run from the grenade? I have had a ton of bugs. Eg. every once in a while when I try to go into the prone position, I either can't, or once I am in that position, I am stuck there until the Koreans kill me. No amount of hitting Z or jumping or any keystroke is helpful. You just die.
Also, the loading times... are.... so..... damn.... slow. Just trying to modify your weapon stops the game (for you, not the Koreans). Even exiting the game takes forever. I finally had enough frustration and decided to uninstall the game. It took 10 friggin minutes to uninstal!! First the uninstall program had to "collect information". After about 6 minutes of looking at the hourglass, I was then allowed to watch for another 3-4 minutes for the uninstall. Whatever happened to smooth efficient programming?? I am getting sick of FPS that are only about graphics. I want fast load times, and smooth, intuitive gameplay. I loved Far Cry. I won't be buying Crysis.

For your problem about slow Start/Quit of the game, how much RAM do you have?
I believe Windows is swapping a lot to make some space to the game and reload at the end those flushed memory.
I had that problem before with 2GB and now really fine with 4GB and Vista 64.

I thought the loading times were fast, Far Cry was alot worse in its time of 512Mb RAM PCs, though not anymore with 2gb+ RAM. I too have found a multitude of bugs, trees that when you throw them just sit above you floating in the air. Killed aliens that simply freeze mid-air upon death. HUD not returning when I was killing General <insert korean name> like it is supposed to. Falling through the aircraft carrier when fighting the warship, sometimes to lower levels, other times right though it into the ocean. Then there are the annoying checkpoint saves 0.1s before an explosion kills you.

Thanks to Lone Eagle for the advice about RAM. Good idea, just the push I needed to go to 4Gb. I just thought of another funny bug that I ran into. I jumped up on a jeep to punch out the gunner (I had run out of bullets) and after I killed him, his hat just slowly floated off into the ocean. Instead of bullet time, I had hat time.....

Make sure that you go 64 (XP or Vista) else you will see like 3.2GB.

For Vista, installing the 64bits is complete, no upgrade.
