Piss-taker! 😉
I'll start typing like a 3-yr old now!

Oh well, what can I do?
Ironically, if anything, you're the feeble-minded one...!

LukeBird, shut up or put up. All you've done is run away from any possibility of having yourself look like a fool by stating how pointless it is to talk to anyone about your so far explanation-less use of macs. If you can name a legitimate reason for paying a 50%-100% premium for a fancy case that contains the same hardware as any other pc and an operating system I can run on any other pc then please, do so. Don't waste everyone's time bitching about being thought of as an elitist mac using dolt and then act like one anyway. Nothing you have said indicates you've used any intelligent thought processes in your purchase of Macintosh computers, but you sure as hell seem to have convinced yourself you have. For the record, there is a such thing as a wrong opinion, so don't give me that "I just prefer to spend asinine amounts of money on a pc case that matches the Operating system I like" BS... just proves your brain doesn't function properly.

Oh... and don't attempt to talk down to people based on their age. You'll be just as stupid at 80 as you were in highschool.

I at no point talked down on anyone based on their age. I made a comment that I assumed you were an angry teenager, but that was based on your pointless I-know-better-than-anyone response. Ok, lets see, where does such a "50%-100% premium" exist...?? It doesn't, it used to, but it doesn't anymore. The OS can indeed be run on other hardware, but unless it is exactly the same components as a Mac then you'll have driver difficulties. (It's illegal as well) although I can appreciate that this is something that anyone running a Hackintosh is unlikely to be bothered by. Perhaps you could enlighten me as to where I indicated that your opinion was wrong, as I didn't... If you knew anything about Macs you would know that I have an older Mac and as I only bought it recently it didn't cost a massive amount either.
Why thank you for the personal attack as well, I'm glad you think I'm stupid, it's what makes me get out of bed in the morning. :non:

No, I vowed I wouldn't! 😀
spaztic7 was a far easier person to discuss the subject with, that's why I did provide some description as to why I ahve both a PC and Mac.
Oh well, what can I do, I don't have a problem being insulted over it... 😀 😉

I love it when people's arguments break down into nothing but personal attacks. It can show their ability to use words and prove points. I think they are stupid. (ha ha ha, get it? never mind)

Does Apple charge a premium, yes they do. They are not really any worse than Alien ware or other high end PC vendors... other than the fact that with the high-end PC's... they have much better hardware, but that's not the point.

Why are we talking about this anyway? This thread isn't about Windows vs. Apple, its about the patches for Crysis. Although I don't mind either topic, I just don't see it making any headroom at this time.

Shannannananana_deRF_HA: Why god? WHY? 😛 Sorry about the name, nothing personal... just feeling random this morning.

Well I do hope that my response(s) didn't turn into personal attacks as I completely agree with you about them, pointless!
With regard to the topic, I haven't bothered patching Crysis yet, I'm still on retail! 😀

OK. We all agree that LAN_deRf_H A is annoying. Can we move on/stay on agenda here?

I patched to 1.1, but haven't bothered with 1.2 yet. Is it worth it?

The patch will probably take longer to install than I can stand playing Crysis at any one sitting, but out of morbid curiosity...I am curious.

Waiting on Windows 7? That's at about 1½ away. I don't think I could gut playing DX9 games for that long. Its DX10 or I'll just play it on my PS3 or 360.

I've read the majority of this thread, I thought I had a lot to say about yet another CrysisMark08 thread, and the Vista Vs XP deal, but I should mention one thing, no comment..

I did update to 1.2 and i have not noticed any difference. They said that it was to fix some crashes online, if I am not confused. So, for performance, its still crysis.

A typical [H]orrendous comparison. They don't even use the same settings.

Gaming. Right lets clear this up. I have XP and Vista. I spend a lot of time gaming , that is why i have invested a a fair amount of money on my kit. I have installed and run my games on both systems. In EVERY case i get a better FPS rate from XP than Vista. Which is why i don't game in Vista. (and yes i do play crysis on very high settings)

Sorry to burst your bubble mate, but xp can also do "open file location" as well....

I'd be surprised if vista 64 will ever be as popular as vista 32. Windows 7, amongst gamers, might see a 64 bit version being the most popular. Still think xp should take precedence over vista for the time being, seeing as its by far the most prevalent os around, not to mention being easy on the memory and hard disk requirements, and giving slightly higher fps, it is still firmly THE gaming os. Or not?

hes got a point though... to really test crysis you should use vista as its going to be the new os soon and really shows what crysis has... or you could just look up triple c on google, download it, get so much more fps for crysis while it looks a lot better =D
I'm not so sure. With the release of windows7 beta as early as late 2009 and release in 2010. A lot of people are hanging on before swapping to Vista until ithe bugs are ironed out, how many of them will completly skip Vista? I think i may.
I have Vista on one PC but thats a dual boot and i hardly boot to Vista. Don't get me wrong, i think Vista is ok.

I agree with the points about nes OS's sucking

But on your final paragraph.
Vista new way of implimenting graphics drives, new way of implemening security features, new way of implementing file transfers etc etc. First real use of DRM. Windows 7 similar to Vista they will have had a few years to beta test the methods with Vista users.
So it might be a new OS and have a whole bunch of problems but i can't see it being as bad as Vistas. I mean look at file transfers, it's been over a year since it was released, they release a patch and that makes the problem worse.

Yes yes and yes, but you are not giving any money to Microsucks :non: therefore XP is bad Fista is good (and shiny) and whilst you are trying to get Fista working like XP does you can be saving your pennies up for Windows 7.

Heh, what are you talking about, by the time 7 is out Vista will be retailing for pennies at the rate their dropping prices. I checked the local BestBuy and saw Vista Home Premium Retail (thats right in the pretty box with the one curved corner) for $100. For M$ thats practically a free handout considering their normally greedy prices.

Edit: LoL i just had a funny image in my head of a little kid playing the typical claw machines where you pick up stuffed toys, but this one had a bunch of copies of Vista boxes in it.

yeah, but the thig is, it is in there by default, sure it COULD BE anywhere near as good as vista, but it isn't by default, i find with vista, out of the box it is just alot more user friendly (although i don't like that they took run form the start menu by default), oh, and as this topic seems to be being non constructive and rater long winded, i must add

aliens will invade in 2012, so no need to argue about the future, if you don't believe me, watch the x files, it is all in there!

TL;DR

Post of the year..
