That's not saying much. There is no component further behind than AI. Graphics have always been at the forefront. Physics has been the recent obsession of game makers. AI and sound are fighting for last place.

Granted every FPS game needs better enemy AI, I believe they should spend just as much effort in improving the physics of weapons. When the first Crysis came out, not only did they tout how good it looked, but also how great objects in the game obeyed the laws of physics.

They should be able to allow a toggle in the settings to apply the same physics to weapons. An arch/range/lethal velocity to my rounds would be greatly appreciated. Adding in environment variables would be great too.

I think adding weapon physics to the improved AI would do wonders for this game. It just seems a moot point if the AI was made smarter, but my pistol could still shoot in a straight line with a range as far as my GPU could draw an image on my monitor. Lets put those extra CPU cores to good use!

Why is it that everyone is making games about WAR all the time!! its all about shooting, killing, blood spilling, knifing etc.! how about a game about LOVE for once!! RAAAAAAAAAAAAWR!! I is angwy!!!

Hmm...I hope its as "good" as their first game's AI, with guys walking past me to jump on a machine gun turret when I'm already behind the bunker. It was real good stuff.

/sarcasm

So you want to see a Crysis/ Fable type of game?

One thing that always bugged me about crysis was the enemies accuracy and their hit points. Hitting a guy without any body armor on with the same gun they have at point blank range should do MORE damage to him than it does to me when he shoots me. I could see if I was fighting a bunch of guys with nanosuits on but these are the plucky regulars Im talking about.. some dude in a boonie hat and tshirt should die if I put 2 in his chest not stagger back and shrug it off and shoot me with the same rifle and in 2 or 3 hits Im out of armor. Then there's the accuracy that they have ... A shotgun should not strip my armor from 50 yards away... an ak round shouldnt be able to even hit me from 500yds away.

Nothing like awesome AI and graphics for 4 hrs of gameplay for $60... 🙁
I hope we can use Sandbox here. I enjoyed re-playing levels after giving myself the TAC Tank and Gun with unlimited ammo.

All the "fair" comments make me think they're giving themselves a disclaimer.

"The AI will be the most intelligent, dangerous, and sophisticated ever!! It'll be fair though.. and won't utterly destroy you for playing like a n00b. So, other than that though, it'll pwn you!!"

It all sounds intriguing, but the "fair" comment makes me wonder what he actually means. Sounds like they're dumbing the AI down.

I don't know fable...but I want a game with kissy kissies and lovey dovey!

do you agree with me?

Crysis multiplayer sucked. Considering they are not addressing multi-player, I have to assume it will suck in Crysis 2. Lack of good multiplay will ultimately hinder a game released in 2010.

Will the AI be restricted to true line of sight? I'm tired of games where you are in total cover, you can't see the enemy, but they can target you precisely. Those games get uninstalled really quickly.

[citation][nom]frye[/nom]So long as there's no omniscient helicopters...[/citation]

I so have to agree with you there. I had to dive under water like 20 feet, AND cloak then try to swim away all at the same time. NEVER got away from them. I had to come up out of the water to breathe.

Someone didn't play Crysis wars.

Why should it? There are hundreds of modern games available that offer multiplayer, and titles are released every month that have a multiplayer component. Seriously, someone can go play any other FPS if they are concerned that a new title won't have decent MP, because all the latest FPS games play exactly the same anyway.

While I agree with most of that statement, I dont really about the ak-47. Our troops routinely qualify out to 300meters open sights. Thats 328yards. Thats with a 5.56 mm round. A 7.62x39mm round should hit you at 500yards. With a crappy scope they should be able to put one in your chest.

(What's with all the "FAIR" War isn't supposed to be Fair)
I think it means the AI will not cheat, since it will be advanced it will not be superhuman to fight. Your opponents may miss at times like we do and so on, my guess.

They are not able to fix the serious DX10 memory leakage in the last level of the first Crysis, why should I believe they really care improving something. They want to showcase the next version of their engine, it's going to be just another tech demo from Crytech.
