less enemies... but smarter and harder to kill. guys that can also react the same as a real human during battle. not run like a stupid fawk towards death.

i'm so tired of games that you kill thousand of enemies. rambo? I didn't like this movie thx.

[citation][nom]sliem[/nom]Does it also apply to friendly AIs?[/citation]
No, they will still blindly run into line of fire (both yours and the enemy's, but mostly yours). If running into the line of fire is an impossibility, they will find a way to push you out from your cover into the line of fire or attract enemy splash damage that also kills you. They will also grab all power ups and ammo and find knee-high, five-foot long fences to be insurmountable obstacles. Because, clearly, that's how all friendlies are supposed to act.

Hmm... So what if the video-game characters begins to be intelligent to figure out the "Matrix" we set them in?
Dammit, i've seen to much "The Matrix" and XKCD.

[citation][nom]bjrobert[/nom]It's about time someone made aliens think like aliens are supposed to.[/citation]

hehehe as far as I know, the only aliens that currently are confirmed to exist are the ones digging tunnels or climbing fences to get into the country. :) So just how are "aliens" suppose to act?

I want Jurassic Park Velociraptor smart AI's(yeah it wasn't a game, but that's my benchmark of scary smart AI/skynet), that once you think you've got the edge, the truth is that THEY have the edge, and they you're dead. Let's just hope they used round door knobs...

[citation][nom]fayzaan[/nom]I don't know fable...but I want a game with kissy kissies and lovey dovey!do you agree with me?[/citation]
uhh no... no I dont. Kill em all!

[citation][nom]tokenz[/nom]While I agree with most of that statement, I dont really about the ak-47. Our troops routinely qualify out to 300meters open sights. Thats 328yards. Thats with a 5.56 mm round. A 7.62x39mm round should hit you at 500yards. With a crappy scope they should be able to put one in your chest.[/citation]
While the bullet from an 7.62 can go that far and very accurately might I add (its the same size bullet as a .30-06 that we use in some of our sniper rifles and for deer hunting in civilian hands), the AK's accuracy on full auto is horrendous. The only reason its so fearsome to us really is because in most of the firefights we get into like in iraq currently and back in vietnam were at less than 100 yards. The effective range of the rifle is really only about 300yds accurately when firing more than 1 shot in a row. It's not so much the round as it is the full auto with the 16" barrel. Like say you did 3 round bursts with iron sights. Youd probably hit with the first round of each burst if you took the time to reacquire your target after each burst... giving you an accuracy rating of ~33%. The 5.56 is about half the size of the 7.62 and has much less kick (as you probably know), so you'd probably hit with 66% accuracy doing the same three round bursts. The problem I have is in the game Im using their AK on them while they return fire on me with the same weapon and they are more accurate than I am.

If you get a guy in crysis to shoot at you from a good distance away and watch him with your binocs (I think they have ranging in them dont they? bah I cant remember its been so long since Ive played it)... and range the guy you'll see they hit you with almost every round from over 500yds away. If you return fire on them, even when they are standing still and youre in strength mode with iron sights, you'll only hit them like once or twice out of 10 rounds. The enemies are a TAD too accurate and their rounds do way too much damage on you if you are wearing some sort of super suit armor. That is unless the super nanosuit armor is really just as strong as a button up short sleeve dress shirt and boonie hat. LOL!

I'm kind of skeptical most of the "best" ai we've had for the last two decades where aimbots that knew how to walk(I'm looking at you conterstrike). if they do make an ai that is actually smart, (not one that will; back into you turn around, go have a cup of coffee, read the newspaper, then come back and stab you before you've had time to blink.) it might send a message to other developers that aimbots aren't good enough.

Sounds great!.. but if they follow in the footsteps of crysis 1.. none of us will be able to enjoy all that "AI" until 2014 when 6 core proccessors are in the bargain bin and graphics cards have 10 gigs of ram on the entry level cards. :)

[citation][nom]Dirtman73[/nom]Why should it? There are hundreds of modern games available that offer multiplayer, and titles are released every month that have a multiplayer component. Seriously, someone can go play any other FPS if they are concerned that a new title won't have decent MP, because all the latest FPS games play exactly the same anyway.[/citation]

Yes, but they are all multi-player. There are only 2 good multiplayer First-person action games on the market. Counter-strike and Mount and Blade: Warband. Crysis Wars also.

[citation][nom]dfusco[/nom](What's with all the "FAIR" War isn't supposed to be Fair )[/citation]Unfair is when you snipe a guard from 600 yards and the guy standing next to him fires his pistol from the hip drilling you right between the eyes with his first shot[/citation]

Sounds like Counter Strike on Expert.....

Fellow's right. I once had the opportunity to fire some weapons (the INSAS 5.56 SLR and the 5.56 LMG) at a firing range courtesy an uncle.....at 50 meters in burst fire mode, the first shot hit close to the bulls eye, the second one midway between the BE and the edge, and the third either on the edge or a complete miss. Full auto on the LMG was even worse- they let me try it out with 5 rounds in the mag- only 2 shots hit the target. Also, the recoil in Crysis is a lot less than a real weapon-firing full auto at anything more than point blank range can't possible hit anything. Also, trying to fire in controlled bursts a la Rainbow Six would cause some of the weapons to "lock up" ie you're clicking but nothing is happening.
